10% FLORFENICOL INJECTION【Main Composition】Florfenicol【Physical appearance】Colorless to yellowish clear liquid.【Pharmacological effect】Pharmacodynamic: Florfenicol belongs to a group of the amide alcohols broad-spectrum antimicrobials , which has a strong antibacterial activity to a variety of gram-positive bacteria, gram-negative bacteria, mycoplasma, etc. Florfenicol is primarily a bacteriostatic agent inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis by binding to ribosomal 50S subunit. The antibacterial activity of florfenicol is similar to or stronger than that of chloramphenicol and thiamphenicol against microorganisms. Chloramphenicol resistance bacteria resulting from acetylation are still likely to be sensitive to florfenicol, such as E. coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, etc. Pasteurella hemolytica, Pasteurella multocida and Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae are highly sensitive to florfenicol.Pharmacokinetics:Florfenicol can be rapidly absorbed via intramuscular injection, reach the therapeutic concentrations in blood approximately 1 hour and achieve the highest plasma drug concentration in 1-3 hours. The bioavailability of this product is over 80%. Florfenicol can be distributed in wide range of tissue in animals and can pass through the blood-brain barrier. The drug prototype will be primarily excreted through urine and small amount excreted by faeces.【Drug interactions】(1) Florfenicol is not compatible with macrolides and lincosamides , therefore, they should not be used simultanenously.(2) Florfenicol might have antagonistic effects in combination with bactericidal activity of penicillin or aminoglycosides, however, it has not yet been demonstrated in animals.【Indications】 It is mainly used for the treatment of bacterial diseases caused by sensitive bacteria for pigs and chickens, such as porcine infectious pleuropneumonia, typhoid fever and paratyphoid fever caused bySalmonella. It can be also used for treatment of chicken cholera, pullorum disease and colibacillosis, etc.【Usage and dosage】Intramuscular injection: 0.2 mL/ kg of body weight each time for pigs, chickens and 2 consecutive times with 48 hours interval.【Adverse reaction】Overdosage may have some immunosuppressive effects.【Notes】(1) It is not recommended for laying hens in the laying period.(2) In animals with renal insufficiency appropriately reduce the dosage or prolong the dosing intervals.(3) As it might cause immunosuppression in animals, therefore it should be cautiously used in the vaccination period.【Withdrawal period】14 days for pig and 28 days for chicken.【Specification】10%【Package】50ml, 100ml or as per your requirements【Storage】 Sealed preservation.【Warning】Keep out of reach of children.
